SSN Research Centre-Research Career Opportunities for Scientists
and Engineers
We are establishing a major cutting edge science and technology
research centre at SSN Nagar, near the famous Mamallapuram, 40
km from Chennai. This is an initiative of SSN Charitable
Institutions set up by Shri Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL and one

Research domains and topics of immediate focus are |
- Energy - Solar Photovoltaic, Solar Thermal, Biofuels,
Coal gasification
- Advanced Materials - Silicon nanocrystals, Gallium
Arsenide / Gallium Nitride, Polymeric compounds for
photovoltaic energy conversion
- Embedded Processor Systems - Special applications in
safety and security critical systems, multi core designs,
architectures and software

Major technical facilities for characterization of materials,
processing of semiconductor devices, unit processes in chemical
engineering, specialized engineering prototype fabrication,
microprocessor hardware and software research facilities, test
and evaluation facilities for devices and equipment are being
set up in-house. In addition, technology partnerships with other
research and development agencies and academic institutions are
being established.
We expect that above domains will engage the attention of about
200 researchers in the next 5 years. We are looking for talented
young Indians who are willing to join us in the excitement of
creating a new centre for world class research that will advance
the frontiers of knowledge and will also be relevant in meeting
societal needs. Following positions are to be filled
